Play For The Premier Collegiate Esports Competition In North America Begins October 5th.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Oct, 5th, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Conference One (CF1) play for the 2021 Fall VALORANT championship begins Tuesday, October 5th starting at 8:00pm eastern time on Twitch. The premier gaming competition features over 100 scholastic esports clubs from the United States and Canada. With $10,000 of scholarship earnings on the line, winners will be crowned on November 13th and 14th.
“Conference One is home to the most elite competitive collegiate programs in North America.” G3 Esports CEO Anthony Gaud explained. “It was our intent to ensure that all schools who participated were scholarship-based in order to provide an ELITE play experience. At Conference One, play matters and our organization strives to elevate the standards of the esports industry around the globe.”
This will be the second annual VALORANT competition for Conference One after an inaugural campaign in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Competitive play will be split amongst three divisions: Immortal, Radiant and Diamond, with the winner of each group receiving a share of scholarship prizes. In addition, the ‘Benefits of Conference One’ program was founded to help establish an esports infrastructure for mental health and wellness support of student-gamers.
Conference One initiatives include featured livestream matchups every Tuesday night on CF1’s Twitch channel as well as point of view (POV) programming syndicated on SI.com.
All enlisted Conference One members will also have a dedicated school team page, complete with player profiles, stats and news stories on Sports Illustrated. It’s part of the CF1 motive to deliver collegiate esports to the masses.
