Updated: May 12, 2023

Meadowlands, New Jersey - Yesterday, a panel of esteemed esports industry leaders convened at the SBC Summit North America to discuss the immense potential and promising future of esports betting in the United States.

The panel, hosted by Anthony Gaud, CEO of Gaudhammer Gaming Group (G3) and Chair of the Esports Trade Association's Regulated Video Games and Esports Committee, was part of a series being organized by G3 focusing on gambling over the remainder of the year.

The panelists included Amir Mirzaee, CCO of Bayes Esports; Michele Fischer, VP of SIS Content Services; Vlastimil Venclik, CEO of Oddin; Hai Ng, Integrity Ambassador for ESIC; and Roger Quiles, Esports Attorney.

Recognizing the opportunities presented by the rapidly growing esports industry, G3 has vowed to create a coalition and work with companies in the space to ensure the United States achieves the same, if not more, success in esports wagering compared to other parts of the world.

This commitment comes as the global esports industry is expected to reach $1.79 billion in revenue by 2023, with the esports betting market alone projected to be worth up to $13 billion by 2025 according to a report Eilers and Krejcik Gaming.

During the panel, Gaud and the experts addressed various topics, including the factors contributing to esports betting success in other countries and how they can be applied to the US market, the importance of live esports event data, content and integrity in esports, marketing esports betting, safeguarding esports betting, and the relationship between esports and sportsbooks.

Some key insights from the panelists include:

  • The potential for growth in the US esports betting market, with experts estimating that the market could reach $13 billion by 2025, driven by innovative wagering products and effective marketing strategies tailored to younger demographics.

  • The significance of approved and regulated live esports event data and offering live wagering on streamed esports and video games to engage bettors and drive market growth.

  • Safeguarding esports betting through measures and strategies intended to ensure fair and responsible practices.

Overall, the panel conveyed a strong sense of optimism and determination for the future of esports betting in the United States.

As the legal landscape evolves and more states embrace sports betting, the insights provided by the panelists and G3's commitment to industry collaboration will play a crucial role in realizing the full potential of esports betting in the US.
